immersed in nature…

Approximately 1 hour + 45 minutes drive from Melbourne, Cape Cabin is enviably located on the edge of the Cape Woolamai national surfing and nature reserve in Phillip Island, Victoria. It’s wild, it’s windswept and it’s a whole heap breathtaking and can be accessed via a dirt track immediately across the road from the property.

At 4.2 km, our beach is the longest patch of sand on Phillip Island and the only surf beach in Victoria to be formally recognised as a protected National Surfing Reserve. This ever-changing, awe-inspiring landmark is our playground at Cape Cabin and the waves here are internationally regarded as some of the best beach breaks in Australia. With consistently large waves all year round and strong rips close inshore, this is not a beach for the faint hearted however we provide our guests with a comprehensive list of all our favourite ‘secret squirrel’ beach activities for all ages + abilities as well as a tide chart to co-ordinate trips across the road with children at low tide when they can fossick and swim in the rock pools at low tide, build a sand castle and enjoy the calmer moments that this beach has to offer.

Walk, run, ride, climb, surf, slide, swim + play, or make friends with the local wildlife. We have an endless supply of recommendations and provisions up our sleeves to keep your group entertained across your stay at Cape Cabin without requiring you to load your team back in the car at any point if you don’t want to.
